Sterling - Percy Sterling departed this life in the glorious triumphs of living faith in God at the home of her parents on the 29th day of May, 1903 in the town of Macomb, NY in the 23rd year of her age. Sister Percy was converted about eleven years ago under the labors of C. Shaver. We do not know just when she united with the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Macomb, of which she was a member. Our dear young sister in Christ was highly esteemed by a large circle of friends by whom she was loved and respected. She was for some time afflicted with consumption, which terminated in death. in all of her sickness she was patient and resigned to God's will. During the last few weeks of her life she was wonderfully supported and kept by the grace of God. As she came nearer the end of life's journey the brighter and more glorious was her Christian experience. It was indeed blessed to be with her. She was so happy, bright and cheerful, so sweetly trusting in Jesus, even to the end. She whispered faintly her last words on earth in her father's ear just a moment before she breathed for the last time, "I am trusting in Jesus." In the death of our young sister the church has lost a bright, promising useful member. The community has lost a kind, loving friend. The home as lost an affectionate, kind, loving daughter and sister, but we thank God that our loss is her eternal gain. She leaves a father, mother, twin brother, and a number of sisters to mourn their loss, but they mourn not as those without hope. Her funeral was held in the Methodist Episcopal church in Macomb. It was said that there was the largest gathering in attendance ever known in the place. Services were conducted by the writer assisted by the Rev. Mr. Segley, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church of Macomb. The writer preached from Luke 8:52 after which we laid her away in the Macomb cemetery to wait the resurrection. May the blessing of God be upon the bereaved ones. Amen.

Macomb - June 8:
Our little town was saddened last Friday, May 29th, on hearing of the death of Miss Percy Sterling, daughter of mr. and Mrs. Fred G. Sterling of this place, after a lingering illness of consumption, from which she had been a sufferer for over a year. Although everything that loving hands could do was done for her, she gradually sank until her death. She bore her sickness patiently, was never heard to complain. She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church and left an exemplary life behind her, it being her aim and delight to always be faithful, so when the call came she would be ready to meet loved ones gone before. She was a true friend, a kind daughter and a loving sister. She had made her home in this place the greater part of her short life and she had won many warm friends whose hearts were saddened because of her departure. Besides a father and mother she leaves a twin brother Perry, and five sisters, namely, Mrs. Willet Covell, Mrs. George McLeod, Mrs. James Cameron, Misses Josie and Flora Sterling. Funeral services were held from the home Sunday at 11 o'clock and from the church at 12. Rev. Mr. Warner of Pope Mills conducted the services assisted by Rev. Mr. Seyler of Brasie Corners. Interment was at State Road Cemetery.
