Edith Lilly Marsh is the sister of my grandmother, Myrtle Grace Marsh Smith. Edith was the oldest child, Myrtle the second; they had two brothers Robert Marsh (1885-1963) and David Guy Marsh (1891-1918). Their parents are David Marsh (1849-1917) and Rosa Angelina Routier Goeke (1848-1923). When Rosa married David Marsh in 1880 she was a widow of Edward Adolfe Goeke (1840-1878) with three boys Frank, Adolfe and Edward Goeke. David Marsh, born in Ohio, immigrated to Clinton Co with his parents about 1854. They were a Clinton Co., pioneer family. David Marsh was a farmer in Tippecanoe and Clinton Counties, IN. Rosa Routier immigrated from Marne France at age seven with her family to Indianapolis, Marion, IN about 1856. Her father and brothers were carpenters her mother a seamstress / homemaker.

At the age of 18 Edith married James Percy Irwin (1879-1938) on 20 Dec 1899, a Clinton County farmer. Their three boys are Gerald Finton Irwin (1904-1971); Herbert Floyd Irwin (1909-1933) and Francis H Irwin (1917-1962). James Irwin died in 1838, age 59, Edith was 57 years. Five years later in 1943 Edith married Epsie Clyde Fisher (1879-1970). Edith died in 1958 age 77 and is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, Clinton Co., IN.
