Rosa Routier Goeke Marsh is my great grandmother. She was born in Marne, France. According to family history when Rosa was seven years old she came to the U.S. with her parents and two brothers, Peter and Anatole on a sailboat that belonged to her family. The voyage took three months. Her father and brothers were finish carpenters in Indianapolis and well known for the quality of their work. Rosa first married Edward Albert Godke. They had three sons: Frank R., Adolfe, & Edward Goeke. After Goeke died in 1876 she married David Marsh (1849-1917)in 1880. their four children are Edith L., Myrtle Grace, Robert & David Guy Marsh all of Clinton County, IN. Myrtle Grace Marsh Smith is my grandmother.
