Lenna Walker, 89, longtime Goodland resident died at St. Anthony's Hospital in Hays, June 4, 1994. She had been a patient for three days.

Lenna was born Sept. 18, 1904 in Elkland, Mo. the daughter of Melvin and Bertha Norton Miller. She moved with her parents to Colorado Springs in 1911. She received most of her education there. She moved with her parents to Goodland in 1922 and attended her senior year in Goodland High School. She graduated in 1923. She went on to attend Brown Mackey Business School in Salina, Kan. It was in Salina that she met William Henry Walker. The couple were married July 3, 1923 in Salina. Henry worked for the Rock Island Railroad which brought the couple to Goodland.

Lenna was a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Goodland at the time of her death. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and VFW War Moms with Post 1133 and a past member of the Rebekah's.

She is survived by daughters Shirley Hayden of Goodland and Bonnie Carleton of Phillipsburg, Kan.; daughter-in-law Jean Walker of Lynchburg, Virg.; sister Lema Marshall of Goodland; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sons, one brother, two granddaughters and great-grandsons.

Funeral services were scheduled for Tuesday, June 7 at 10 a.m. at Koons Chapel. Dr. Tom Schneider officiated. Burial followed in the Goodland Cemetery beside her husband.

Memorial contributions may be left at Koons Chapel and will be used for the Good Samaritan Center in Goodland.
