Necia King Mullett, the last living survivor of the L.D. King family, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2008 at the age of 94. Necia was born in Raymond, Alberta Canada on Oct. 5, 1913, to Louis Debenham and Emma Elizabeth Eames King. Necia had a wonderful childhood in the little town of Raymond, her parents being among its founding fathers. It was here that Necia's talents as a singer were recognized even at a very young age. Her love of music brought her much joy throughout her life as she performed at social gatherings throughout Southern Alberta. Later, as a strikingly beautiful young woman, she performed with her sister, Lavonne and friend, Cybil Bacon. People excitedly tuned in weekly to listen to the wonderful "King Sisters" over the radio. There was never a time in her life, even into her 90's that she wasn't singing with groups or in choirs. She particularly loved singing with the Cedar City second ward choir. Necia was a nurse aide for many years and worked as a temple worker in the St. George temple. She had many friends who were drawn to her upbeat personality. Her unique expressions of surprise and amazement will sorely be missed. She met her husband, Wesley F. Mullett at Mullett Jewelry in Provo, Ut. where he was apprenticing as a jeweler with his brother, Frank. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on May 8, 1936. They spent 67 years together, first in St. George, and then in Cedar City, where Wes established his business, "Mullett Jewelry." To this union three daughters were born - Dianna K. (Cameron) Court, Salt Lake City; Kristine (Douglas) Plummer, Bountiful; and Vicki Lynn (Dick) Warner, Salt Lake City.

Necia is survived by her three daughters and spouses, 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren who adored her. She is preceded in death by her parents and six brothers and sisters, Louis, Stella, Harold, Shirley, Lavonne, Donald and Melba; her beloved husband, Wes and two grandsons, Cameron Court and Michael Warner. We rejoice at the reunion they must be having. She leaves behind a legacy of service and goodwill, fun and laughter. She was most blessed to have the companionship of wonderful, lifelong friends who loved and cared deeply for her. Her family would like to thank the family, friends and ward members who so diligently and lovingly stayed by her side and for the sweet and loving care extended to her by Kolob Regional Care Center in Cedar City, Utah for the past several months. Funeral services will be held at the Cedar City LDS 2nd ward chapel, 212 west 200 south, on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the ward prior to services in the chapel. Interment will be in the Cedar City cemetery.
