Hollis Gene Davis passed away on September 16, 2023, after a long life and a short illness. He was born in Elmore City, Oklahoma on March 20, 1937, into a farming family, the last of eight other children born to Elzy Davis and Nettie Bell Davis. He attended and graduated from Warren High School in 1955. After school he served 2 years in the US Army.
After his time in the Armed Service, much of his working life was spent in the oil fields with Halliburton in New Mexico and finally in Perryton Texas. While working in Perryton he met his wife, Wynenia. To this union a son was born Curtis Gene Davis along with two stepdaughters, Kathy, and Jamie. He later started farming and ranching in west central Oklahoma. Later in life he retired to Warren. He was a member of the Mason Lodge of Altus, OK. Hollis was preceded in death by his parents, all eight of his brothers and sisters, and his only child Curtis Davis.
