Arley S "Red" Davis, 68, of Bridgeport died on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 1989, in a Spokane hospital.

He was born on Sept. 20, 1920, at Elmore City, Okla., to Elzie and Nettie (Bell) Davis. He attended schools at Elmore City and came to Manson in 1942.

He served in the Army during World War II. He married Pauline Davisson in Manson on May 11, 1946. Following their marriage they lived in Manson for a year then moved to Electric City. Mr. Davis followed heavy construction until his retirement in 1983.

The Davises have lived at Bridgeport Bar since 1951.

He was a member of Operating Engineer Local 370 and the Grange.

Survivors include his wife, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Ron (Judy) Wallace, Bridgeport Bar; three sons, Jimmy, Jerry Lee and John A., all of Bridgeport Bar; four brothers, Pete of Bridgeport Bar, Dude of Manson, Elzie A. of Roosevelt, Okla., and Hollis G Blair, Okla.; two sisters, Ollie Moon of Wenatchee and Linnie Erdle, Marysville; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
