Mary Lou was married to Jimmy for 58 years, and together they raised not only their 3 children, Donald Young (Maureen), Marie Young Smith and Ross Jeffries (Meg), but many others who either needed a place to stay for a while, a mom and dad to talk to, or just to know they were not only important, but loved. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren who she loved dearly.
Mary Lou worked as a bookkeeper for many years at Elliott's Grocery, as well as a clerk for both Poffenbaugh Ford and Starling Chevrolet. While there she served many customers who became lifelong friends.
Mary Lou loved the community of Kenansville, and the many friends she had there. Her back porch was always full for "Happy Hour" and she loved serving her guest with exceptional homemade food. Her cooking skills were legendary.
