MRS.BESSIE B. FURY Obit.
Mrs. Bessie Beulah Fury, 54, of 704 Hamilton st., died at 3:25 a.m. today in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
She had been employed by the Board of Education. She was a lifelong resident of this area and was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church.
She was born in Vienna, Dec. 9, 1910, a daughter of Andy Gates and the late Melissa Jane Phillips Gates.
She is survived by her father; seven sons, Roy Earl Fury of Akron, and William Andrew Fury, Robert James Fury, Jack Lee Fury, Thomas L. Fury, Franklin Dwayne Fury and John Andy Fury, all of Parkersburg; two daughters, Mrs. Carl Bailey and Miss Irene Susan Fury, both of Parkersburg; and 16 grandchildren.
She also leaves a brother, Clarence Griffith of California; and seven sisters, Mrs. Hazel Kesterson of Vienna; Mrs. Julia Ramsey of Ripley; Mrs. Goldie Dye of Belpre, and Mrs. Stella Grote; Mrs. Geneva Phillips; Mrs. Elsie Jobes and Miss Opal Gates, all of Parkersburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Odas Fury in 1961; a daughter, Beulah Louise Fury, in 1944; and a brother, Henry Edward Gates in 1956.
