Son of Jacob Hunsaker and Catherine Huffman.

Married Polly Luce, 15 Feb 1808, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. She died 21 Nov 1819 in Jonesboro, Union, Illinois.
Children - Nancy Hunsaker, Jacob T. Hunsaker, Catherine Hunsaker, John Luce Hunsaker, Abraham Hunsaker.

Married Elizabeth Brown, 9 Mar 1820, Jonesboro, Union, Illinois. She was born 15 Jul 1795 and died 11 Nov 1862.
Children - Joseph Hunsaker, Minerva Hunsaker, Daniel Kimmel Hunsaker, Barbara Hunsaker, George Brown Hunsaker, Mary Ann Hunsaker, Eliza Jane Hunsaker, Matilda Hunsaker, Elizabeth Hunsaker.

History - In 1959, Q. Maurice Hunsaker, who was president of the Hunsaker Family Organization during the 1950's, went to Illinois and searched Hunsaker graves in Kimmel, Jonesboro City Cemetery and a Dunkard Cemeteries. He states in this research:

"Mr. Howerton has done a great deal of work in locating the old Dunkard Cemetery near Liberty. In this cemetery, which is now referred to as the Kimmons Cemetery, is the grave of Jacob Hunsaker Jr., father of Abraham, and a number of other Hunsakers."

"This cemetery is quite far removed from the road, and as it is obscured by a grove of trees, would be quite hard to find without a guide. The cemetery was in a badly run down condition; weeds and bushes have grown waist-high, and a number of the tombstones had broken off and were covered with vegetation."

"According to Abraham's diary, the following were buried in this cemetery: Jacob Jr., 1845; Jacob (infant), 1833; Anny Wolf, Mary Simpson, and Sarah Hughes. Of those named, only the grave of Jacob Jr. could be located."

"The grave of Jacob Jr. is separated from all the other Hunsaker graves and stands alone in a fairly large space. It appears that it was intended that this be a family plot for Jacob Jr.'s family, but no evidence could be found of other graves nearby. Many of the other Hunsaker graves in this cemetery were of Hunsakers listed in Abraham's diary."

"The Kimmons Cemetery now belongs to the Trustees of the Craig family, all of who now live in Eastern Illinois. They have been contacted and care of the cemetery in the future has been arranged. Since my visit, the cemetery had been cleaned, the bushes trimmed, and the tombstones have been set upright and fastened permanently. Because of the location of the cemetery in an inaccessible wooded area, and because the Hunsaker graves occupy only a small portion of the cemetery, it will be impossible to keep the entire cemetery in perfect condition. However, the cemetery will be cleaned up each year, the fence will be maintained and it should remain in reasonably good condition."

In this booklet that he printed there are maps to various cemeteries and pictures of headstones. There are also descriptions that he has written concerning the other cemeteries he visited. I have included the picture of Jacob Jr. that he took to his memorial.
