Frank "Pap" Bloise passed away July 5, 2023, at the age of 102 in his hometown of New Castle.
Born March 18, 1921, in New Castle, Frank was the son of the late Anthony and Rose Frank Bloise.
On Aug. 5, 1946, Frank married his beloved wife, the former Helen J. Pilch. Helen preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 1997.
Frank had worked in the Spring Division for Rockwell International until he retired.
He had proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II.
Frank was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church.
In the early years, Frank enjoyed going hunting with his brothers. He also enjoyed traveling, dancing and going to Challenges.
Frank had a passionate love of ice cream, Italian food and anything dipped in chocolate. He was quite the pool shark while his vision allowed, and played his guitar until the end.
His love of family and country knew no bounds. You could often find him debating politics and telling everyone the accomplishments of his grandchildren, of whom he was so proud.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Sharon Napolitano (Philip); three grandchildren, Nicole Williams (Brad), Neil Napolitano (Brooke) and Natalie Napolitano (Timothy Hines); and two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Spencer Napolitano.
In addition to his parents and wife, Frank was preceded in death by six brothers, James, John, Joe, Sam, Andy and Nick Bloise; and his sister, Mary Viggiano.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.
The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform full military rites at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Thursday for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Father Benjamin Barr will officiate.
Entombment will be in Parkside Mausoleum.
