Mary Vardell Buie Little, age 93, of Clarkton passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Monday, April 17, 2023. She was born in Bladen County on December 29, 1929, to the late Mitchell Mayhew Buie and Rowena Meares Buie.

Mary was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Benjamin Franklin Little, brothers Julian, Thomas, Jake, and Douglas Buie, sisters, Opal R. Berly, Billie B. Beasley, Dorethea B. Thompson, Ruth George, Steve Thompson, Geretta Buie, and Rowe Buie.

Left to cherish her memory are son, Mark Little and wife Ethel of Whiteville, NC, daughter Beth L. Royal and husband Ashley of Holden Beach, NC, Sharon L. West and husband Randy of Clarkton, NC, grandchildren Luke Little and wife Nikki of Wilmington, NC, Marko Little and wife Pam of Chadbourn, NC, Kaycee Price and husband J.P. of Whiteville, NC, Sarah R. Beasley and husband Clint of Makin Sabot, VA, Mae R. Ledford and husband Phillip of Rockville, VA, Maranda Wilkerson and husband Rodney of Boardman, Lindsey Norris and husband Brett of Clarkton, Jessica West of Clarkton, and great grandchildren, Hannah and husband Grayson, Ty, Jaden, Kolbe, Lily Mae, Mary, Silas, Knox, Avery, Laynee Jo, Mabry, Jude, Myles, Jett, Ashley, Josie, Laikyn, and Jonah.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:45 pm on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Clarkton First Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with the Reverend Mark Miller and the Reverend Charles Hester officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Bladen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Elizabethtown.
