Rowena is the next to youngest, 14th out of 15 children, of Mitchell & Rowena (Meares) Buie and mother's namesake.

She married Robert Lonn Hood on Nov 2, 1952 and they divorced on Jul 3, 1984.
He remarried and passed in 2013.

Together they had 2 children, both born in the 1960's.
