Fern Lee Ballenger, 97, of Richland, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012, in Tuscumbia. She was born March 17, 1915, in Camden County, Mo. to Porter and Alma Wall George.
On Aug. 21, 1937, she married Jesse D. Ballenger, who preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 2008. She also was preceded in death by five sisters and one grandson.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church in Richland.
Survivors include two sons, James Ballenger and his wife, Beth, of Richland, and Maurice Ballenger and his wife, Deborah, of Heath, Texas; a sister, Ruby Windes, of Richland; three grandchildren, Lisa Ballenger, Scott Ballenger and Adam Shoemaker; four great-grandchildren, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Fern Lee Ballenger will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2010 at the First Christian Church in Richland with Tim Gola officiating. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery, under the direction of Shadel's Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
