Annie Snowden sailed from Liverpool arriving at Ellis Island aboard the steamship RMS City of Chester on April 17, 1880. Forty-seven days later, the 1880 census recorded her as a "servant" working in the home of the Woodcock Family, mercantile owners in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

In 1885, Annie married John W Haley, a fireman in Hot Springs. They had 5 children; Maude, Jacob (Jack), Lee, Willis, and Joe. Annie died shortly after giving birth to Joe.
