ST. CHARLES, IDA. - Ernest W. Allred, 76, St. Charles rancher and stockman, died Wednesday (7 Apr 1954) at 6 p.m. at his home after an illness of several years. Active in church and civic affairs, Mr. Allred was bishop of the St. Charles LDS Ward for five years and held a number of other ward and stake offices. For a number of years he served as a committeeman on the county AAA and later PMA boards. He also headed the committee as chairman. Born in St. Charles June 16, 1877, son of William Lansing and Sarah Wilkes Allred. He and Orissa Elizabeth Rich were married Oct.12, 1898 in the Logan LDS Temple. His wife died Dec. 24, 1951. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Melvin (Connie) Webb of Hinckley, Utah and Mrs. Curtis (Erma) Pugmire of St. Charles; three sons, E. Rich Allred and Clifford R. Allred, both of St. Charles, and Evan R. Allred of St. Paul, Minn., and 12 grandchildren, one sister. Funeral at 1 p.m. Monday in the St. Charles Ward Chapel. Burial in the St. Charles Cemetery, directed by Mathews
