Died, at 3:30 o'clock, Tuesday afternoon, January 24, at the family residence, 1168 North Third street, Alphonso Armbruster, aged 74 years, 6 months and 17 days. Mr. Armbruster was a resident of Springfield for the past forty years, having come here from his native home in Baden, Germany.

He was engaged in the jewelry business for a number of years and was the senior member of the firm of A. Armbruster & Son, 105 North Fifth street. He had a large circle of friends in the city and county who will be grieved to learn of his death. He is survived by his widow and a large family of children, all the members of which are grown. [Lena, Rose, Emma and Julia, Rudolph, Charles, Otto, Herman, Julius and Ernest Armbruster]

The funeral will take place at the late residence. The interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery.
