Richard Chester Cooksey, 72, of Pollard, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at his residence. Born May 8, 1929, in Tilton, Ark., he was the son of the late Chester and Edna Parl Fore Cooksey.

Survivors include one daughter, Vickie Lack, of Pollard; one son, Russell Cooksey, of Deering, Mo.; one stepson, Dale Gibson; eight brothers and sisters, James, Dorothy, Beulah, Lois, Pat, Betty, Shirley and Janetta; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by a step-son, Ronald Gibson; two brothers, Oris and Lawrence and one sister, Chessie.

Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Ark.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the Gregory Cemetery with Dale Rickman officiating. ***NOTE: The obituary stated that he was buried in Gregory Cemetery; however, his headstone is here in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett, Dunklin County, MO.
