Reul Adkins
Dies at 55
Reul Adkins, 55 of 50602 Calcutta-Smithferry Rd died Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in St Francis Hospital in pittsburgh where he had undergone open-heart surgery Aug. 19 and been a patient since Aug.3.
He was born Sept. 13 1921 in Hamlin W.Va., a son of Ezra Adkins and Flora Stowers Adkins. He had resided in this area since childhood.
Mr Adkins was owner of Adkins Furniture Store on Harvey Ave., which he operated since 1952. He graduated in 1939 from Midland High School and served with the Army in the South Pacific.
He was a member of the church of Jesus christ of Latter-Day Saints and the East Liverpool Masonic Lodge 681.
Survivors include his widow, Zevelda McComas Adkins whom he married April 10 1951, in Hamlin; a son Randy K Adkins, at home; a daughter, Rueletta S. Adkins at home, and a brother, Toney Adkins of East Liverpool.
Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home, conducted by the Elders of the Church. Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon and night.
