Arba Adkins
East Liverpool- Services for Arba Adkins, Shithferry- Calcutta Rd., will be at 11 am Monday in the Martin Funeral Home with the elders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints.
Mr Adkins was pronounced dead on arrival Friday at East Liverpool City Hospital. He had been ill for 2 months. An area resident since 1930. Mr Adkins was born August 30, 1911. He retired in 1971 from the Crucible Division of Colt Industries, after 40 years of service. He was a control operator at Crucible, and was also associated with Adkins Furniture until his retirement.
In addition to the Church, Mr Adkins was also a memberof the American LegionPost 374, and CIO 1212 He was A Staff Sergeant with the US Army Artillery in the Pacific during World War II. His parents were the late Ezra Adkins and Flora Stowers Adkins. His wife Edith O'Brien Adkins, died in 1972. Mr Adkins leaves 2 brothers. Toney And Ruel, and a stepson, Raymond O'Brien, all of East Liverpool. Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
