John Wayne Peters was born on March 10th, 1966 in Siloam Springs, AR, the son of Sam and Lucretia (McCarter) Peters. He joined his five brothers and six sisters at home. He attended Kansas School and then decided on a career in Industrial maintenance with Allen Canning Company. A job he held for years. He was first and foremost a loving son, father and grandfather. He was the proud father of three children, Dennis, Lucretia, and Shania. He was also very proud of his Cherokee Heritage and was a fluent Cherokee Speaker. He was happy to be with those he loved, fishing, hunting and doing a little shopping at Bass Pro. He never missed the chance to go to gun shows and classic car shows, he was a fan. He loved gathering his grandchildren together to enjoy some fried chicken with brown beans and fry bread. He could joke and tease with anyone, anywhere, just to see you smile. There were really good stories about Bigfoot and other such legends. His grandchildren were everything he needed to be proud and happy, and he was their biggest fan. A Christian by faith, he attended Twin Oaks Indian Baptist Church and had for years. His health began to fail him and he passed from this life on February 1st, 2022 at his home in Kansas, OK.
