JOSEPH MARTIN, GALENA
MINER, DIES IN HOSPITAL
Galena, Kan., Aug. 16. — Joseph E. Martin, 47 years old, a miner and resident of this vicinity 35 years, died at 4 o'clock this afternoon at the Jasper county tuberculosis hospital, near Webb City, where he had been a patient several weeks. His home here was at Twelfth and Madison streets.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Grace Martin; two sons, Van (sic) [Dan] Martin and Jeff Martin, both of Galena four daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Brooks, Ruby Martin, Zella Martin and Rea Martin, all of Galena; two brothers, and four sisters.
The body was removed to the Allison funeral home.

MARTIN FUNERAL
TO BE HELD SUNDAY
Galena, Kan., Aug. 17. — Funeral services for Joseph E. Martin, 47 years old, a miner and resident of this vicinity 35 years, who died at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Jasper county tuberculosis hospital near Webb City, will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Other arrangements are incomplete.
He had been a medical patient in the hospital several weeks. His home was at Twelfth and Madison streets here.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Grace Martin; two sons, Dan Martin and Jeff Martin, both of Galena; four daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Brooks, Ruby Martin, Zella Martin and Rea Martin, all of Galena; three sisters, Mrs. Vica Russell of Joplin, Mrs. Fanny Thompson of Galena and Mrs. Donna Lumbley of Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother, Noah Martin of Cave Springs, Mo., and a half-brother, Glenn Martin of Pryor, Okla.

Galena, Kan., Aug. 19. — Funeral services for Joseph E. Martin, 47 years old, who died Thursday at the Jasper county tuberculosis hospital near Webb City, will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Galena Methodist church.
Burial will be in Hillcrest cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ross Shaw, Reece Jones, Richard Murray, Jess McGuire, Roy Albrecht and Hobart Knight.
The body will lie in state at the home of a sister, Mrs. Fannie Thomason, 614 East Seventh street, until the time of the funeral.
