LIFELONG RESIDENT
OF GALENA DIES AT 71.

GALENA, Kan., Aug. 20 - Mrs. Frances (Fannie) Thomason, 71 years old, a lifelong resident of Galena, died at 2:15 o’clock this afternoon in her home, 614 East Seventh street. Her death followed a stroke she suffered Wednesday, although she had been in ill health six years.

Mrs. Thomason was born in Galena June 17, 1883 and had lived here all of her life.

She was a member of the Women’s Relief Corps, an auxiliary of the G. A. R., and the Methodist church.

Surviving are two sons, Joe Thomason of Dallas, Tex., and Jimmie Thomason of the home; two daughters. Mrs. Opal Wooden of Dayton, Ohio, and Mrs. Noah Martin of Galena; a sister, Mrs. Donna Lumbley of Los Angeles; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The body was received by the Poteet funeral home.

Thomason Funeral Monday.

GALENA, Kan., Aug. 21 - Funeral services for Mrs. Frances (Fannie) Thomason, 71 years old, will be conducted at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in the First Methodist church. The Rev. J. H. Thornberry will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery under direction of the Poteet funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Oscar Count, Oscar Smith, Henry Davies, Tom Black, Claude Elliott and Roy Jackson.

Mrs. Thomason died Friday afternoon at her home, 614 East Seventh street, following a short illness.
