No service will be held for James W. Thomason, 79. Hodge Funeral Home in St Maries is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Thomason, who was bom in Galena, Kan., died Saturday.

He grew up in Galena and, at age 7, was injured in an automobile accident which left him mentally impaired.

Mr. Thomason was never employed or married, and lived with his mother in Galena until 1953.

He then moved to Manteca, Calif., and lived with his sister, Martha Humphrey, until her death in 1980.

Mr. Thomason then moved to St. Maries to live with his nephew, Robert.

His nephew died in 1997, and Mr. Thomason became a resident of Valley Vista Care Center in St. Maries in 1998.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews, including Ella Jean Hill of St. Maries.

There is a possibility that James was buried elsewhere, as his place of burial was not noted in his obituary. However, there is an equal possibility that he was buried in the same cemetery as his sister, Martha. His remains may also have been cremated.
