OBITUARY- The Daily Journal, Tupelo, MS Jan. 9, 2000
BIG CREEK- Janet Inez Boatner Hardin, 81, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000 at her residence. She was born July 1, 1918 in Yalobusha County, MS. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Justin Parker.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Vance and the Rev. Dwight Brown officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin Hardin, of Big Creek; two daughters, Barbara Parker and her husband, Thomas Lee, of Wake Forest, N. C. and Melba Taylor and her husband, Jimmy, of Calhoun City; two sons, Robert Carroll Hardin of Germantown, TN and Carl Wayne Hardin and his wife, Karen, of Jackson; three sisters, Julia Norman of Big Creek, Cora Mae Blaylock of Calhoun City and Myrtle Avent of Grenada; two brothers, J. B. Boatner of Memphis and James Lee Boatner of Terry; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hardin, David Parker, Stacy Taylor, Jake Parker, C. R. Dismuke and Tripp Stuckey.
