John W. "Pete" Boatner, a resident of 218 Shiloh Drive, died Friday morning at Tuscaloosa, Alabama, as results to injuries sustained on a construction job, near Tuscaloosa. Mr. Boatner was a native of Calhoun County, and had lived in Memphis before moving to Jackson some 15 years ago. He was employed for a number of years by Cook Construction Company of Jackson. A veteran of the Korean war, he was a member of the Daniel Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife the former , Sharon Yvonne Rowell, one son, Larry P. Boatner, and one daughter, Miss Sheree Boatner, both of Jackson, six sisters, Mrs. A. G. Mabry, of Memphis, Mrs. Eric Evans, of Gradina, Calif. Mrs Jim Aven, of Grenada, Mrs. Curtis Norman and Mrs. Melvin Hardin, both of Big Creek, Mississippi and Mrs Preston Blaycock, of Calhoun City, and two brothers, J. B Boatner, of Memphis, and James Boatner, of Jackson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. Monday from the Wright and Ferguson Chapel, with the Rev. Ralph S. Fuller, pastor of the Westhaven Blvd., Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.
