Nellie was born in Hartshorne, Oklahoma, and was the daughter of Frank and Eva (Galoski) Swboni. She grew up there and graduated from Hartshorne High School in 1946. She then moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where she lived most of her adult life and worked for General Electric for 25 years. She moved back to Hartshorne nine years ago. She was well known for her flower gardens and also enjoyed bowling and sewing. She was a member of the Faith Assembly of God Church in Gowen and considered her church family very special. She passed away at the age of 79 at the Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center in Poteau, Oklahoma. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Eva Hignite and her husband, Gary Davis, of Worthington, Ohio, JoAnn Harris and her husband, Louis, of Madison, Ohio; three grandchildren, Andrea Davis, of Farmington Hill, Mich., Matthew Davis, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Molly Harris, of Madison, Ohio. And, three sisters, Mary Ann Smith, of Wichita, Kan., Katherine Miano, of Broken Arrow, Harlen Erwin and her husband, Tom, of Parma, Ohio; two brothers, Joe Swboni, of Hartshorne, Stanley Swboni, of Streetsboro, Ohio; special friends, Wanda and J. R. Chaney, Freda O'Day, Colene and Jenny and her church family, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Mike, George, John and Frank Swboni. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in Hartshorne with the Rev. Gene Anoatubby officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne.
