Mary Jane "Barbara" Burnett was born at Licking, MO. Her parents were John Henry Burnett and Louisa Catherine (Hobson) Burnett of Licking, MO. May 2, 1909 Barbara Burnett married William "Virgil" Stone, son of Corder D. Stone and Sarah Alice Barnes of Licking, MO. After marriage Barbara and Virgil Stone lived in Licking, MO for awhile. They later moved to California. Virgil died in 1925, soon after they moved to California. Barbara raised their children alone. Their six children grew up in California. The children were Carl Stone, Virginia (Stone) Adams, Agnes "June" (Stone) Snyder, Woodrow Stone, Elizabeth S. "Virgie" (Stone) Hudson, and Edith Evelyn (Stone) Grontkowski. Barbara's husband Virgil Stone is buried in the Union Cemetery, Bakersfield, CA.
