DUMAS - Acena E. Christian, 85, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, in Dumas.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Goodin officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors.

Acena Christian was born Jan. 10, 1922, in Electra, Okla. On May 2, 1945, she married Charlie Christian, who preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 2006. She worked 25 years as the bookkeeper for the TG & Y department store before her retirement. Acena had been an active member of First Baptist Church for 65 years. She had been a leader of the Royal Ambassadors, was a teacher to the beginners in Sunday school and had taken several mission trips to Mexico.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ronnie Williams, Dudley Williams and Waard Williams.

Survivors include two sons, Butch Weddle and wife Sheila of Virginia Beach, Va., and Dudley Christian and wife Marilyn of Dumas; two daughters, Janis Worley and husband Larry of Owasso, Okla., and Susan Buller and husband Wayne of Greeley, Colo.; two brothers, W.J. Williams of Tulsa, Okla., and Bill Williams of Dumas; a sister, Odeane Kight of Owasso; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1535, Dumas, TX 79029.

The family will be at 1422 Fox St. in Dumas.
