Funeral services will be Friday in the Faith Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bruce Baum officiating.
Burial will be in the Black Hills National Cemetery with military honors provided by the VFW Post 1273 Honor Guard.
Memorials are requested to benefit Alzheimer's Research.

He was born Nov. 27, 1922, in Roberts County to Oscar and Francis (Richard) Christofferson. He grew up in that area and entered the U.S. Army Aug. 31, 1944. He served during WW II and received the Bronze Star for ground combat in the European African Middle Eastern Theater.
He married Erma Lawseng in 1955. They lived in Watertown where he began working for S.D. Concrete Products. They moved to Rapid City in 1965 and he was promoted to plant supervisor. He retired from the plant in 1987 after 33 years of employment.
He enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. He also liked working on his home, gardening and canning. He could make almost anything as well as fix almost anything that was broken.
He was preceded in death by his wife July 28, 1988, and a son, Randy.
Survivors include two daughters and their spouses,two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters,three brothers and a sister-in-law.
