CIVIL WAR CASUALTY
Died in a CSA Hospital at Enterprise.

Confederate Co H 4th Reg, MO Infantry

Son of Joshua and Sallie Hansford (Wade) Page, who were early settlers of Bogard, Henry Co. Mo, who had nine children.

per notes written by their niece Jennie, Benjamin and his brother, William, "went south" to join the confederate cause. Many of the family's neighbors, primarily "Yankees", held this against the family for many years. Neither brother returned.

CONFEDERATE MISSOURI TROOPS
4th Regiment, Missouri Infantry
4th Infantry Regiment completed its organizations in April, 1862 with men from Springfield and the surrounding area. Most all of its members served in the Missouri State Guard. It moved east of the Mississippi River, took an active part in the Battles of Iuka and Corinth, then was assigned to Bowen's Brigade, Department of Mississippi and East Louisiana. It participated in various conflicts during the Vicksburg operations and was captured in July, 1863.
