He was the son of Joshua & Sallie Hansford (Wade) Page. He grew to adulthood on the family farm on the western edge of Henry County, very near the Cass County line.

He married Martha Missouri Blazer, 24 Aug 1856, Cass County, Missouri.

Four children were born to this marriage;
1. Infant b-24 May 1857, d-24 May 1857
2. Amanda b-31 Mar 1858, d-20 July 1858
3. Margaret Bell b-Feb 1859
4. Henry Wakman b-16 Aug 1861, d-18 Aug 1863

He enrolled in CO.F 16th MO Inf. of the CSA during the Civil War. He was taken prisoner and held six month before he was exchanged. He then served with the 1st Missouri Brigade and was once again wounded and taken prisoner. He was held at Camp Chance, Ohio and on 4 Jan 1865 was sent to Louisville for exchange.

After the war he went to Fulton County, Indiana and studied law. While there he married Sarah Ann Thomas, 1 Mar 1866. In May of that same year he returned to Cass County with his bride.

Four daughters were born to this marriage;
5. Ella Lee b-1 Sept 1870
6. Alice Loraine b-Oct 1875
7. Myrtle Lanore b-24 May 1879
8. Clara Louise b-27 Aug 1881

They resided in Harrisonville during his Judgeship. It is unclear if he died there or if they had returned to the area upon his retirement. She and two of the girls were living in Creighton on the 1900 census.
