PIONEER RESIDENT DIES AFTER LINGERING ILLNESS
Wood River, Nebr., Dec. 12 - Funeral services for Mrs. John Ewing, a resident of Hall county since 1872, whose death occurred at her home six miles northwest of Wood River after an illness of six years, were held from the Christian church in Cameron township on Wednesday afternoon, with burial in the Cameron cemetery. she was aged 61 years, and for the past six years had been an invalid, suffering from chronic rheumatism, most of this time being bedfast. She was a daughter of William Dubbs, pioneer settler who, with his family, came to Hall county over 50 years ago, locating on a homestead in Cameron township. Besides her husband she is survived by four sons, William, of Barneston, Nebr., Theodore, of Kansas City, Mo.; Archie and James of Wood River, and a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Brennan, of Wood River.
