The son of Charles Heinrich "Carl Henry" Trampe and Caroline Elisabeth Prigge, Julius was baptized "Julius Otto Heinrich August Trampe" on 11 Apr 1886 at Salem Lutheran Church in Black Jack, St. Louis County, Missouri. His sponsors were Otto Reller, Heinrich Vorderstrasse and August Trampe.

Julius was married to Ellen G. Hetherington. They were the parents of 1 child.

Julius worked in the insurance business until his retirement.

He suffered a cerebral hemorrhage 2 weeks before his death. He was hospitalized at DePaul Hospital where he died at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 19 days.

He was survived by his wife, Ellen; 1 daughter, Jacquelin Janson; 1 son-in-law, Norman F. Janson; his grandchildren; 1 brother, Herman Trampe; 1 sister, Laura Trampe; and many extended family members.

Julius was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Funeral services were conducted at 9:15 a.m. on the morning of 14 May 1962 at Math Hermann and Son's Chapel at Fair and West Florissant in north St. Louis County, Missouri.

Julius' wife, Ellen, passed away in 1981.
