ARTHUR ODELL SELF

Arthur Odell Self, 60, of West died Thursday at Holmes County Community Hospital where he had been a patient for 5 days.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 14, at West Baptist Church with Rev. G. T. Dukes, Rev. Bill McCreary and Rev. Floyd Higgenbotham officiating. Interment was in West Cemetery with Southern Funeral Home of Durant in charge.

Mr. Self was a native of Carroll County. He was a retired State Highway Department employee, a mason and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ruby Caldwell Self; one daughter, Mrs. Rose Marie Dendy of West; five brothers, Robert Self, Rufus Self. Joe Self and Brown Self all of Vaiden, Jack Self of Winona and a stepbrother, Stephen Henry Woods of New Orleans; five sisters, Mrs. Annie Belle James of Greenville, Mrs. Connie Welch of Winona, Mrs. Mamie Farrish of Jackson, Mrs. Maggie Downs of Swiftown and Mrs. May Griffin of Jonesboro, Ark.: and 2 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bud Edwards, Wyatt Dendy, Melvin Farmer, Ralph Self, Doug Green and Joe Cummings.
