Brown Self, 60, of Vaiden died March 8 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood after a brief illness. Mr. Self was a retired farmer and a member of Vaiden Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bessie Welch Self of Vaiden; three daughters, Mrs. Marine Clark of Taylorsville, Mrs. Christine Self of Vaiden and Mrs. Earline Shows of Jackson; three sons, Ralph Self, Larry Self and Tracy Self all of Vaiden and one step-son, T. C. Caldwell of Ft. Worth, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Downs of Swiftown, Mrs. Connie Welch of Vaiden and Mrs. Mamie Doster of Jackson; three brothers, Robert Self, Joe Self and R. D. Self, all of Vaiden; also 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Rev. Claude Gamble assisted by Rev. J. A. Wade, and Rev. George Cantin conducted services at Oliver Funeral Chapel on Friday, March 9 at 3:00 P.M. Burial was in Vaiden Cemetery with Oliver Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Albert Welch, Buddy Welch, Luther Briscoe, R. W. Miller, J. B. Bailey and Robbie Rucker.
