J. D. Pullen, 78, of Winona was buried in the New Hope Cemetery on Thursday, February 7 following memorial services in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Pullen died at the Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital Tuesday, Feb. 5, 1985 following a lengthy illness. The Rev. Bryan Scarbrough officiated the services, assisted by the Rev. Gladwin Clark and the Rev. Frank Bishop.

Pullen, a bookkeeper for Builders and a retired employee of Tabor Brothers was a member of Moore Memorial Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Winnie B. Pullen of Winona; three daughters, Mrs. Jeanette Shirley and Mrs. Betty Eskridge, both of Winona and Miss Carolyn Pullen of Memphis; six sisters, Mrs. Linda Hovis of Winona, Mrs. Corrine Rose of Duck Hill, Mrs. Connie Allen of Kilmichael, Mrs. Estelle Mills of Riverside, Calif., Mrs. Louise Jolly of Columbus, and Mrs. Elaine Nicholls of Memphis; one brother, Wayne Pullen of Yuma, Ariz.; and three grandchildren, Barry Eskridge, Beth Eskridge and Lynne Eskridge.

Pallbearers were Randy Henson, Dale Mitchell, Lamar Shelton, Johnny Tabor, David Collins, and Marvin Clark. Oliver Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
