Winford Curtis Pullen, Sr., 55, of Winona died Saturday, December 6, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Montgomery County, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter D. Pullen, member of First Baptist Church, World War II Veteran of U.S. Coast Guard, member of Winona Masonic No. 48, member of Knights Templar and a Shriner and member of the order of Eastern Star and owner of Pullens Grocery.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Costilow Pullen of Winona; one daughter, Beverly Castle of Winona; three sons, Winford Curtis Pullen, Jr., of Marietta, Ga. and Nathan Douglas Pullen and Anthony Lee Pullen, both of Winona; six sisters, Mrs. Linda Hovas of Winona, Mrs. Louise Jolly of Brooksville, Mrs. Connie Allen of Kilmichael, Mrs. Corrine Rose of Duck Hill, Mrs. Estell Mills of Los Angeles, Calif. and Mrs. Elaine Nichols of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, J. D. Pullen of Winona and Wayne Pullen of Sumerton, Ariz.; four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Billy Blakely, Winfred Branch, Alvin Ramage, George Weaver, Harvey Greenlee and Billy Box.
Members of the Winona Masonic Bodies served as honorary pallbearers.
