MANCHESTER, JOHN "FRANK"

A retired foreman for the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission and a resident of Port Allen, he died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. He was 72 and a native of Arbroth. Visiting at New Southside Funeral Home west chapel, 924 S. 14th St., from 1 p.m. until wake service from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Recitation of the rosary at Holy Family Catholic Church, Port Allen, at 10 a.m., followed by visitation until funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Saturday, celebrated by the Rev. Henry Vavasseur. Interment in Chenal Cemetery, New Roads. Survived by his wife, Delores C. Manchester; a daughter and son-in-law, Clara and Edward Bynum; a granddaughter, Leticia Jackson; and a great-granddaughter, Jaia Keasia Jackson, all of Port Allen; three sisters, Dorothy Brackens, Clementine Franklin and Joyce Jackson; and four brothers, Joseph, Wilson, Earl and Charles Manchester. Preceded in death by his parents, a son, four sisters and a brother.
