Mr. Charlie William "Bill" Dye, age 74, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, formerly of Swords Creek, Virginia, entered into Heaven on Saturday (December 26, 2020) at a Richlands, Virginia hospital. Born May 13, 1946 in Swords Creek, he was a son of the late John Fred and Bertha Keen Dye and was a lifelong resident of the area. He had worked as a coal miner for over thirty years and later was employed by Little B Enterprises. He attended the Revival Center for several years and was a loving husband and devoted father. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters, Hazel Campbell, Hester Hughes, Maxie Hale, Becky Hale, Sylvia Hess, and Pinkie Dye, five brothers, Elmer Dye, Johnnie Dye, Bob Dye, Tom Dye, and Peery Dye, one son-in-law, Rod Blackwell, and one fur baby, Hayley.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-five years, Carolyn Dye of the home; two sons, Joe Dye and wife, Ann of Richlands, Mark Dye of the home; three daughters, Sherry Dye and Susan Dye of the home, and Lora Blackwell of Honaker; two sisters, Jackie Johnson of Swords Creek and Darlene Dye of Keen Mountain; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Dye, Orthie Conley, Phyllis Richardson, and Irene Justus; brothers-in-law, Jackie Richardson and Harold Justus; special friends, Jerry Crouse, Harold Newberry, Delbert White, and John Vandyke; eight fur babies, Daisy, Molly, Pedro, Snoopy, Teddy, Eleanor, Pablo, and Izzy; several nieces, nephews, and many church friends also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. David Perkins, Rev. Steve Perkins, and Rev. Jim Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the Richardson Cemetery at Swords Creek, Virginia.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
