Mrs. Maxie Maedean Dye Hale, age 72, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Thursday (December 26, 2013) at her home. Born March 20, 1941 in Swords Creek, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late John Fred and Bertha Emily Keen Dye. A lifelong resident of the southwest Virginia area, she had spent her early life in Swords Creek, Virginia, before moving to Richlands in 1982.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Hale, five brothers, Elmer, Tom, Bob, Johnny, and Perry Dye and three sisters, Hazel Campbell, Pinkie Dye, and Hester Hughs.
Survivors include two sons, Rocky Cecil Hale of Richlands and Ricky Christopher Hale of Macon, Georgia; four sisters, Silvia Hess and husband, Raymond and Becky Hale all of Rowe, Jackie Johnson of Swords Creek, and Darlene Dye of Keen Mountain, Virginia; one brother, William Dye of Baptist Valley; special loved ones, Nancy Blankenship, Michelle Hale, Donnie Goodman, and Jonathan Andre; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Phillip Cook and Rev. Danny Hess officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Hale, Jeff Hale, Phillip Keene, Ralph Campbell, Thomas Johnson, and Charles Dye.
Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Friday, where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 PM.
