Salley, S.C., Aug. 20 - Morie Gleaton, 73, of R.F.D. 1, Salley, died early this morning at the Orangeburg Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services will be held at Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church Sunday at 4:30 p.m. by the pastor, the Rev. T. B. Frierson. Burial will be in the churchyard cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Tillie Gleaton, of Salley; one daughter, Mrs. Rodell Hudson, of Salley; three sisters, Mrs. Nelce Phillips, Columbia, S.C., Mrs. Lula Gleaton and Mrs. May Chavious, Neeces; one brother, Moss Gleaton, Springfield, and eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. © The Chronicle, Augusta, GA, 21 Aug 1954
