OBIT: Mrs. Thelma Bennett King, 63, a Stewart housewife, died Saturday. March 19, 1988, at her home of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Montgomery County native is survived by six sisters, Mrs. Hazel Holland of Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Velma Butler of Holcomb, Mrs. Nela Jean Basey and Mrs. Alma Dunaway, both of Greenwood, Mrs. Opal Coley of Vicksburg and Mrs. Betty Cox of Stewart; a brother, T.H. Bennett of Houston, Texas.
Memorial services were conducted from Oliver Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 23. The Rev. Gregg Skelton preached. Interment was in New Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Buddy Bankston, Sam Coley, Jr., Phil Tenhet, Horace Butler, Sam Coley, Roy Ledge, Donnie Willhite and Donald Moore. Oliver Funeral Home handled arrangements.
