OBITUARY from on-line Mobile Register, Dec. 12, 2007: Tilmon Bennett, who had worked for Bemis Bag Co., died Saturday at an area nursing facility. He was 86. Bennett, a welder, was a native of Montgomery and a longtime resident of Wilmer. Survivors include his longtime companion, Dorothy Simon of Wilmer; two daughters, Margaret "Tessie" Cope of Texas and Shirley Fulgum of California; and two sisters, Opal Corley of Hazelhurst, Miss., and Hazel Holland of Orlando, Fla. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home in Semmes, followed by a private burial in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
