Mrs. Addie E. Amos

Mrs. Addie E. Amos, 80, died at 4:15 p.m. yesterday at her home, Grandview St., after an extended illness.

She was the wife of Samuel C. Amos and belong to the Rockport Methodist Church. Se taught in Wood county schools for several years during her early life.

Born Jan. 20, 1883, at Rockport, Wood county, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Martha Deem Archer.

Mrs. Amos spent most of her life in Rockport (Elizabeth Rt. 3 community. She was a Four-Star Mother of World War II.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by six sons, Frank T. Amos, Arlington, Va., Kermit C., Clayton E., Edwin R., Homer R. and Warren J. Amos, all of Parkersburg; two daughters, Mrs. Eva Wright, Parkersburg, and Mrs. Betty Allman, Pettyville.

Two brothers, Charles Archer, Williamstown, Roy Archer, Rockport; five sisters, Mrs. Maud Knotts, Parkersburg, Mrs. Minnie Powell, Harrisville, Mrs. Ray Butcher, Mineral Wells, Mrs. Nettie Norman, Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Carrie Brown, Mason City, Iowa.

There are 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. An infant son and a sister preceded Mrs. Amos in death.

The body was removed to the Leavitt funeral home where friends may call. Funeral arrangements were incomplete last night.
