Mildred (Milly) Abbott Evans, 84, of Fletcher, NC, formerly of Patrick, SC passed away on April 30, 2020. Milly was the daughter of the late James and Myra Abbott of Hartsville.
A graveside service will be held on June 7, 2020, at 2:30pm at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery (1652 Mount Olivet Church Road , Patrick, SC 29584 ). Charles Young of the Blythewood Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Pathfinder Club of the Arden SDA Church, (35 Airport Road, Arden, NC 28704).
Milly was born October 4, 1935 in Hartsville, SC. She married Ray Edgerton Evans on June 13, 1959. She was a former member of the Columbia First SDA Church. Milly achieved the leadership status of Pathfinder Master Guide and served as the pathfinder leader for many years in the Columbia First SDA Church. Pathfinders are an organization for youth within the SDA church designed to provide opportunities for learning and sharing the Gospel(Good News) of Jesus Christ. She was a medical office manager for many years in Columbia, SC after she worked for Shealy’s Millwork & Supply of West Columbia. Milly enjoyed having family gatherings at the “Country” with elaborate potluck meals and sharing the family history.
In addition to her parents, Milly was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, Patrick, SC, her brother James Raymond Abbott, Jr. (Opal), Florence, SC, and sister Betty Jo Abbott Baize (Ervie), Charleston, SC.
Surviving are her children Thomas(Tony) Evans (Theresa), Lyman, SC, John Evans (Diane), Hendersonville, NC, Gene Evans, Fletcher, NC and Patti Evans Fouche (Steve), Gilbert, SC; her seven grandchildren Brandon Evans (Kim), Lexington, SC, Lacie Evans, New Orleans, LA, Dustin Evans, Chattanooga, TN, Cody Evans, Lyman, SC, Carolyne Evans, Winston Salem, NC, Ashton Evans, Scottsdale, AZ, Elizabeth Fouche, Lexington, SC; her two great grandchildren Brentley Belveal, Lexington, SC ; Mila Fouche, Lexington, SC.
