FALL CAUSES DEATH OF AN AGED WOMAN
Mrs. Chinessa Yeley, Aged 86 Years, Had Lived in Bartholomew County for Seventy-five Years.
Mrs. Chinessa Yeley, aged 86 years, died at 5:30 o'clock this morning at her home near Nortonburg from injuries received in a fall a few days ago. Mrs. Yeley was walking about in her dooryard, when she fell to the ground, fracturing one of her ribs and inflicting other serious injuries on herself. Funeral from the Petersville M.E. Church at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon. Burial in Garland Brook Cemetery.
Mrs. Yeley was the widow of Charles Yeley, who died seven years ago, aged 79 years. She was born in Kentucky, but came here with her parents when she was eleven years of age. The remainder of her long life she spent in the neighborhood of Nortonburg. She is survived by the following children: James Yeley, of Nortonburg; Mrs. Michael Crussell, of Newbern; and Mrs. Jacob Cox, of the Hawpatch. The couple were the parents of eight children, four of whom are dead.
Mrs. Yeley was a member of the United Brethren Church and was a devout Christian. Hers was a long life well spent and full of usefulness. She was kind and generous and highly esteemed by all who knew her.

Died Saturday at Nortonburg, age 86 years, 5 months, 7 days. She was the widow of Charles Yeley of Newbern.
Survivors are 2 sons, James of Nortonburg and Jacob of Columbus, 2 daughters, Mrs. Frances Crussell of Newbern and Mrs. Margaret Cox of Columbus. She raised a grandson, Ralph Yeley.
Funeral service was Monday at Petersville Methodist Church with burial at Garland Brook.
