AGED WIDOW PASSES AWAY
Mrs. Margaret Cox, 80, Life Long Resident of County, Dies After Long Illness.

Mrs. Margaret Cox, 80 years old, lifelong resident of this county, died at her home four miles northeast of the city this morning at 9:30 o'clock following a long illness of ailments attendant to old age. Funeral services will be held at the home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W.A. Settle, pastor of the Wertz Memorial United Brethren Church. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery.

Mrs. Cox was the widow of Jacob Cox and was well known in the county. Her maiden name was Margaret Yeley, and she was born and reared in the neighborhood where she died. She and Mr. Cox were married 58 years ago and they spent their entire life on the present farm. He died in 1908. She was an active member of the United Brethren church and a highly esteemed woman. For the past six years her nephew, Earl Yeley, and wife have lived with her and taken care of her. Other relatives surviving are two brothers, Jake Yeley, of this city, and James Yeley, of Nortonburg, and a sister, Mrs. Nick Crussel, of Newbern. There are a number of nieces and nephews.
