Born in Celestine, he was the son of Charley W. and Allie (Weston) Hubbard. He married Helen Brannon on June 25, 1937 in McAlester. He was a self-employed mechanic and served as a Minister of Pentecostal Holiness Churches in the Hartshorne, Canadian, Savanna, Quinton and McAlester areas. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Cloyd Hubbard; a daughter, Sharon Kay Hubbard and three brothers, Clyde, C.L. and Doyle Hubbard.
