A native of Augusta County, she was born Nov. 12, 1898, a daughter of the late Henry O. and Nora Bell Hawpe Arehart. She was an employee of Genesco-Staunton Manufacturing Co. for 42 years, retiring last year. Mrs. Miller was a member of Mint Spring Methodist Church, a charter member of the 29th Division, Auxiliary No. 61, Staunton.
Surviving are her husband, Harry M. Miller; one son, Edward Miller, Staunton; one daughter, Mrs. Phil (Anna Catherine) Nuckoles, Mint Spring; three sisters, Mrs. Aimee Coffman of Staunton, Mrs. John (Catherine) Croft of Staunton, and Mrs. Thomas (Mary) Lotts of Raphine; seven brothers, Oscar L. Arehart of Fisherville, H. Christian Arehart, G. Raymond Arehart, Carey D. Arehart, all of Staunton, Houston L. Arehart, Allen C. Arehart, both of Newport News, and R. Curtis Arehart, Hampton; three aunts and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at eleven o'clock Friday morning in the Mint Spring Methodist Church. The service will be conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Harry C. Rickard, and the Rev. Herbert S. Turner, D.D. Burial will be in Augusta Memorial Park near Fisherville.
Active pallbearers will be: Grover Vest, James Golladav, S.M. Quick Jr., Richard D. Miller, Walter H. Coiner and W.F. Hoy.
Honorary pallbearers will be: R.T. Wright, Richard Coffey, Harry Walters, William Ballew, Harry Harmon Jr., Bobby Rexrode, Dr. Joseph Williams, S.T. Landram, Z.F. Tinsley Sr. and nephews of Mrs. Miller.
The body will remain at the Fred Henry Funeral Home until 9:30 Friday morning and then will be placed in the church.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday night from 7:30 to 8 o'clock at which time a memorial service will be held by members of VFW Auxiliary No. 2216. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Phil Nuckoles, Mint Spring.
